Tough Love Pit Bull Rescue is a small network of foster homes and dog advocates, with volunteers currently in Arizona, California, and Washington state.
We limit the number of dogs in our care so we have considerable time to devote to socializing, training, and evaluating behavior. As a general rule, Tough Love dogs are trained in basic commands and potty trained (some exceptions for puppies of course). Each dog is treated as a member of our families and it is our experience that this treatment smooths the transition of our dogs into their new families. Each dog is introduced to a variety of social situations in a controlled and positive fashion. Our goal is to place dogs that are solid family members and good canine citizens.
Our adoption process is designed with the welfare of both human adopters and canine adoptees in mind. Before any adoption is approved, you must fill out an application, participate in an interview, and open your home to our inspection. The well-being of each dog is our priority, of course, but we understand the critical importance of the people involved with the rescue process -- both prospective adopters and volunteers. We work hard to make this experience a pleasant one for all beings involved! If you have any questions, please email us, and a volunteer will promptly return your inquiry.
Tough Love also provides outreach services and community education programs. We provide financial assistance to qualifying families who cannot afford to spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip, feed, or provide other necessities to their dogs. Our members work on campaigns to promote animal rescue and breed equality, including but not limited to social media, legal, and research projects. It is our goal to provide communities nationwide with the information they need to make educated decisions and implement workable solutions to animal welfare and public health/safety issues. We are committed to a world where canine equality, owner accountability, and safe communities coexist. It is not only feasible, but the only efficacious destination.
** NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE FOSTER HOMES IN ARIZONA OR CALIFORNIA and we are unable to take in and foster dogs from those areas unless the dog has transportation from those states to Washington state.**
